It’s always one of the best places to discover the next key cultural happenings in advance, and this year three key developments piqued our interest. Why? They’re going to be huge for the kids market in the next 12 months…

1. Since its launch in 2012, the digital phenomenon IFL Science has amassed a global following of more than 120 million people. Its Facebook page has over 22 million followers. Meanwhile, the online store is a multi-million dollar business. How do you expand on such success? Well, at Brand Licensing Europe IFLScience is looking to launch into licensing with a kid-friendly brand  Science Is Awesome, specifically catering to six to 16-year-olds. Not familiar with IFLS? 2. Spanish brand Desiguel has collaborated with one of Cartoon Network’s top properties Adventure Time to produce a S/S 16 capsule collection of printed jersey items for kids and teens, set to hit stores early next year. Never heard of it? It’s surrealist animated genius that probably has the best theme tune of any show right now…

3. For parents who love reading with their children, We’re going on a bear hunt is probably something you could recite in your sleep. The news is there’s more Bear Hunt joy heading your way. Written by Michael Rosen and illustrated by Clare Oxenbury, this modern classic has been re-imagined as a short animation due to make its TV debut Christmas 2016.
