Designers typically have their trademark item, and for Alexander Wang, that has always been the t-shirt. The recent winner of the Swarovski Award at the CFDAs is rarely seen in anything but a loose-fitting knit, whether he’s at a formal function or the after-party. For next spring, he finally takes his first stab at menswear, with a full assortment of washed-down and stretched-out tees, tanks, hoodies and button-down shirts true to his “live and let live” aesthetic. The fabrics were “tortured” to get the maximum softness, including tossing them with rubber balls and washing them with soda. Look for the collection on Alexanderwang.com come S/S 10.
