Beloved for his menswear, Scott Sternberg’s collection for Juniors used boyish tailoring to achieve an insouciant grade-school charm, worked against looser, feminine pieces like bubbled-shaped skirts. A body-con bandage-wrapped mini got a preppy makeover with striped banding. The mood was Malibu-in-the-70s, complete with with oversize anoraks, rolled chambray trousers, deconstructed nautical stripes and windblown hair. Appropriate for the city or the boardwalk, the looks were refined and clean but not fussily crisp.
