Bottega Veneta

Milan: From the models’ stringy wet locks to the slinky jerseys and washed silks, there was a liquid ease at Tomas Maier’s collection for Bottega Veneta. Even the luxe leather pieces, which have become something of a signature for Maier, were laundered, giving them a crinkly texture and a relaxed feel. Mr. Maier himself said he was not interested in dressing Hollywood this season, and a series of long silk jersey dresses demonstrated the authentic, low-key elegance that he was going for. The strong-shouldered suits of last season became soft and comfortable for spring and were shown in elegant blue-green and shades of grey and cream. The finale looks, silk dresses in a wheat tone featuring tacked-on skirt pieces and mid-calf hemlines, projected an effortless, uncontrived chic.
