Bottega Veneta

Milan: Tomas Maier’s S/S 14 presentation began on a somber note with 50s-inspired work suits in charcoal grey, but the mood quickly loosened to include cargo pocket short-sleeved shirting, refined polos, suede baseball jackets and colorblocked cardigans. The designer even managed to make the usually tongue-in-cheek tromp l’oeil look chic, using faint chalk outlines to create faux pajama tops or crisp cotton sailor tops, creative items in line with Bottega Veneta’s retro meets modern aesthetic.— Nina Stotler
