National Geographic Kids has teamed with From Blue To Green to set a Guinness World Record for most gathered clothing items for recycling. By engaging the power of youth to donate old jeans which were then turned into Natural Cotton Fiber Insulation, which is used to help build houses in places that have been ravaged by hurricanes, tornadoes, and other natural disasters. Over 30,000 pairs were donated which will create enough insulation for over 60 homes. One 9 year old collected over 1,600 pairs of jeans that he wanted to keep out of a landfill. As resources deplete in our environment these creative ways to make a difference really do matter.
