Richard Press’ new documentary, Bill Cunningham New York, is dedicated to the legendary New York Times street fashion photographer and writer of the newspaper’s On the Street and Evening Hours style columns. Cunningham has been at the New York Times since 1978, and pioneered the type of fashion street photography that is so popular today. He’s not only known for his eye though; just as famous for his modesty and charm, the chronicler is beloved by even the most high-profile and eccentric of his subjects. In fact, Anna Wintour, Tom Wolfe, Brooke Astor and David Rockefeller are just a few of the A-list New Yorkers who appear in the film out of their love for Bill. The documentary’s first official screening will take place at New York’s Film Forum on March 16th. For a complete list of showings, click here.
