BIG IDEAS | Skateistan Short Film

Diesel and Dazed & Confused recently paired up to launch Diesel New Voices, a venue for talented, young filmmakers to gain global exposure. Three short documentaries that highlighted global “youth microcultures” and positive change were selected to receive funding. Our favorite was Skateistan: To Live and Die Kabul by Orlando von Einsiedel. Filmed in Afghanistan, the documentary highlights the Skateistan charity, the world’s first co-educational skateboarding school for children ages five to 17 led by a team of international volunteers.
