Champion cyclist Lance Armstrong and Nike have joined forces to launch Stages, a “global art exhibition to raise funds and awareness for the fight against cancer,” which opened recently at the Galerie Emmanuel Perrotin in Paris. Armstrong’s foundation, LIVESTRONG, commissioned pieces by several renowned artists including Ed Ruscha, Richard Prince, Raymond Pettibon and more. In addition to paintings, the custom-designed TREK cycles Lance rode during this year’s Tour de France are on display, with Damien Hirst’s butterfly-adorned white and pink cycle taking center stage at the exhibit entrance. All work is available for purchase with proceeds directly benefiting the LIVESTONG foundation.
