L to R: Beyond Retro femmes model dresses from the 1910s, 1920s, 1930s.
London-based archive and retailer Beyond Retro has launched a month-long retrospective of the dress, looking at iconic silhouettes emblematic of 20th century fashion from the 1910s – 1990s for it’s “School of Frock” initiative, which will see a number of rare [archive] pieces up for silent auction via instore bidding at their Dalston, East London retail location. A concurrent weekly edit of more recent styles is available for purchase on the website, with Week 2’s focus on Denim and Pinafore dresses. And because no 21st-century initiative is any fun without an interactive social media component, vintage seekers are encouraged to instagram a photo of their favorite dress, *any dress*, currently up for sale on beyondretro.com and tag it with @beyondretro [instagram] and @beyondretrouk [twitter] for a chance to win. So get to ‘stagramming & tweeting, and you might just walk away with a fun frock, with a story to boot!
