ELEGANTLY MOODY

London: After twenty years in the business, Jackson knows what her customers want. Rugged homespun knits? Check. Masculine tailoring? Check. Delicate dresses? Check. The designer’s signature pieces were revitalized by a moody palette of blood reds and misty neutrals ideal for exploring the wild moors of Yorkshire (or London’s first Whole Foods in Kensington). 1920s-inspired sheer tea dresses with dropped waists and oversized floral prints lent a feminine edge to a collection rooted in separates. Standout woolen knitwear held different weights within each garment to add texture and graphic interest. Tailored pieces were boxy in front but draped into exaggerated bows in the back. In a final artisanal effort, pleated trousers were decorated with childlike diamond drawings, and paired with hand-knitted multi-color sweaters.
