In less than 15 weeks time, I will be pounding the pavements of London to complete the 26.2 miles through the capital. It will be my fourth marathon. With my training kicking off this week, here are my top five active-inspired beauty products to help you look and feel good pre, during and post working out.

1. Arrow
Every woman wants to look good while working out but wearing make-up is a definite no no. However, this is set to change thanks to a brand new product line from Birchbox. Inspired by the activewear trend, Arrow comprises of three high performance products: a cheek tint, lip balm and deodorant formulated with breathable oil-free ingredients. Birchbox has plans to expand the range to include a facial mist, water-resistant mascara, cleaning cloth, tinted serum and tinted brow gel, which we cannot wait to get our hands on when it launches this spring.

2. Smart Water
I stumbled across this product while searching for a new water bottle that I could take to the gym and also keep in my handbag when I am out and about running in-between beauty press events. There are so many different variations of water bottles on the market nowadays, but one brand that stood out was the HidrateSpark, a water bottle that connects to a smartphone to track water intake during the day. Now, there is no excuse for not drinking enough H2O.

3. Sweat Cosmetics
I’m always on the look out for a good sunscreen that will protect my face from UV rays, won’t rub away from sweating and withstand every weather condition you can imagine while running outside. One brand that gets my beauty editor’s seal of approval is Sweat Cosmetics’ Twist Brush + Mineral Foundation SPF30. Fusing make-up with sunscreen, this clever little multi-tasker ensures your skin is protected and flawless. I never leave the house without putting it on.

4. Make-Up Eraser
I often go to the gym in the morning or after work so I try to downside on the amount of products I carry in my bag to keep it compact while ensuring I still have my daily essentials. One product I love at the moment is the Make Up Eraser. Yes, it may look like a simple face flannel, but in fact there’s a hidden technology infused in the cloth that takes off make-up quickly including mascara and hard-to-budge eyeliner. Simply run the cloth under warm water to activate. It’s also very functional, lasts up to 1,000 uses and is machine washable.

5. Mind & Muscles
Training for a marathon can take its toll on the body and mind. The long distance running in the cold weather is tough. But what gets me through these solo runs is the thought of a nice long hot bath (and a protein bar) afterwards. A few drops of Aromatherapy Associates’ Clean Mind Bath and Shower Oil soothes away muscle pain and encourages mindfulness thanks to chamomile, frankincense, bergamot and palmarosa essential oils.
