Brought to Berlin by NYC creatives Gabriel Kuo and Keren Richter is Rats, a pop-up shop dedicated to the underground culture of New York – rodents and all. Its name refers to the city’s unofficial mascot, while the merchandise housed here is imported from NYC via carry-ons. Art books, accessories and design pieces are displayed alongside simple white labels that provide a brief product history. The offering here spans books from the Ed Varie gallery in the East Village to knick-knacks from the Fort Standard design studio in Red Hook, as well as great flea market finds. They even stock Doritos. Everything on display cannot be found elsewhere in Berlin. A must see before the end of the month. –Sarah Ryan Hecht
