Y-3 has opened its first freestanding location in the heart of Milan’s Corso Como neighborhood, providing the unique combination of Yohji Yamamoto’s avant garde creativity mixed with the high-tech athletic innovation of Adidas, spread over 200 square meters.
The two-floor space features a minimal interior in a simplified palette of white, grey and cement, with white resin floors and steel fixtures. The ground floor is dedicated to the women’s collection and is comprised of four separate rooms that are connected by arches, linking to the first floor via a reinforced concrete spiral staircase.
The second floor is dedicated to menswear. The clean effect of the industrial materials used lends focus to the products, which have garnered both critical and commercial success since the label’s initial launch in 2003.
