Summer is definitely my favourite season and I love the beach. With the summer holiday season approaching, sun creams will be an essential beauty product. For me, sunscreen is a must-have in my make-up bag and I wear it everyday on my face to protect my skin against UV rays even when it’s not overtly sunny. Below are four new sunscreen lotions worth investing in this summer whether you are staying in the city or planning a exotic getaway.

1. SkinCeuticals Mineral Matte UV Defence SPF30
I’m a huge fan of SkinCeuticals skincare – I love the Phloretin CF serum, which is amazing. So, when I heard about a new sunscreen the brand was launching, I was intrigued to test it out. In the summer my skin tends to be slightly more oily, especially around the T-Zone area, so finding a sunscreen that doesn’t make my skin shiny or clog pores (breakout alert) is a top priority. The Mineral Matte UV Defence SPF30 goes on like a dream. The lightweight, mousse texture and oil-absorbing formula ensures my skin is left matte with a smooth appearance. Protected and perfected in one.

2.Bioderma Hydrabio Eau de Soin SPF30
I took this product on a recent trip to Florence and now it’s a staple in my bag. I even used it last weekend as I was doing an outdoor obstacle course. This water-based mist comes with a high SPF30 for protection but also features moisturising ingredients to leave skin hydrated and luminous. It’s a great all-rounder and you can even spray this invisible fine mist over your make-up. Don’t leave the house without this one!

3.Margaret Dabbs London SPF30 Sun Defence for Hands

Putting a sunscreen on the face comes naturally without thinking, but the hands are often neglected. I was introduced to this new product recently at Margaret Dabbs’ clinic in Liberty. Not only does it contain a SPF30 to protect from UV rays, it is also formulated with Australian emu oil, vitamin E and argan oil to leave hands hydrated and soft. It’s also super easy to use as it comes in a spray bottle. Simply spritz and go!

4. Shiseido WetForce Expert Sun Protection Lotion S SPF50+
Shiseido is always one step ahead of the innovation game when it comes to skincare products. Last year, the brand launched the groundbreaking WetForce Expert Sun Protection – a sunscreen that becomes even more effective in protecting against UV rays when skin comes into contact with water. For 2016, they have developed a new version for sensitive skin (hooray) and feature a milder formula without any irritant ingredients.
