Taking a cue from the recent surge in YouTube beauty muses, Maybelline has partnered with CVS to host a contest called Be A Sensational Makeup Artist.
Inspired by the growing interactivity in the cosmetics industry, participants are asked to submit a video that shows off their talents creating their own beauty look with Maybelline products. Like the successful online beauty how-to’s, anybody can be an expert. The winner will be given a trip to New York and an opportunity to help backstage at fashion week in February 2011.
Maybelline’s contest reinforces the idea that self-publishing aficionados are fast becoming the new experts.
