Beauty Buzz | Sephora and Pantone’s Tangerine Tango

Sephora and Pantone have partnered together to become beauty’s leading authority in color. Together, they’ve created a color collection that celebrates Tangerine Tango, Pantone’s color of the year. The 12-piece collection includes a blush duo, a brush set, lipstick, eyelash curler, eyeliner set, lip gloss set, makeup bag, nail polish set, false lash set, and eyeshadow quad.

Pantone describes tangerine tango as “a spirited reddish orange, [that] continues to provide the energy boost we need to recharge and move forward in 2012.” “It’s reminiscent of the radiant shadings of a sunset, Tangerine Tango marries the vivaciousness and adrenaline rush of red with the friendliness and warmth of yellow, to form a high-visibility, magnetic hue that emanates heat and energy,” says Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®.

The color works as a cosmetic due to its versatility. It adds a vivid, youthful pop of color to lips, cheeks and nails. The color complements blue or green eyes and when paired with brown eyes, it brings out an amber cast.

“Color is such a universal experience. It speaks so many different languages and we use it in so many different ways. Whether you’re a designer or a makeup artist, like myself, we use color to tell stories,” says Gilbert Soliz, Sephora Pro Artist. “Tangerine tango is a fresh new shade that looks good on everyone.”
