Basso & Brooke base their work around digital prints, which appear every season as a splashy expression of their chosen theme. For spring the duo focused on “Jeff Koons, hyper-reality and Herb Ritts” for a swirling, modern take on futuristic, body-con fashion. Skintight mini-dresses with sweetheart necklines and sheer paneling were exactly right for Juniors, and the print mixing, asymmetrical cut-out straps and t-shirt silhouettes all brought this collection forward — as did a few toned down geometric motifs. A free-handed, rainbow-hued presentation, Basso & Brooke’s S/S 10 served as artistic inspiration for print design as well confirmation of established key items.
