The house of Balenciaga has chosen 19 garments from its archives from 1932-1967 to be reproduced exclusively for Le Bon Marché department store in Paris. The line is called “Balenciaga Edition,” and all 19 models, reproduced in modern materials, are on display right now in the dept store next to a scanned printout of the designer’s original sketch. A tag hanging on the neck of each mannequin denotes the original collection (season/year) of the piece. The garments will be displayed from September 12th to October 5th and will then be offered for sale. As vintage Cristobál Balenciaga is some of the hardest vintage to find, this is a unique opportunity to at least get the look (and exact pattern) even if its not the original.
