A FRESH BREEZE
New York: Alexander Wang, inspired by the sea and sailing, explained, “Here, I wanted to work with asymmetry, cutting more fluidly.” As a result, his sophisticated variation on this theme produced a collection of draped tops and jackets with trailing asymmetric hems resembling the triangular shape of sails. Leg revealing silhouettes also came with stylized raincoats and accessorized with rubber boots – a point where French chic meets minimal, tomboy street but still anchored in Balenciaga purity. – Lizzy Bowring
