The Look: Rock ‘n’ roll Princesses
Makeup: Fabiana Gomes for MAC
Hair: Marcos Proenca
For Iódice, Gomes transformed models into “rock ‘n’ roll royalty.” The bronze/brown color palette (definitely a trend this season) was updated with different textures. “I used Metal X shadow because it has a high-tech metallic effect. It’s not a bright metallic.” Eyes were the focal point with a blend of creamy eye kohl and shadow for a liquid metal effect. The same smoky shades were used to contour the cheekbones. For lips, Gomes patted on MAC’s Kinda Sexy lipstick with her fingers for a warm, soft lip color. “There are no strong lines, everything is smoked up, even the contours.”
Skin was fresh with a soft glow. “I spend more time on the skin than anything else. It takes 60% of the the time to prepare. We love skin that looks like satin so we use highlighters, primers and illuminators. We’re trying to achieve photoshopped skin,” explained supporting makeup artist Segio Erasmo.
Products (all MAC): Prep + Prime, Teddy Eye Kohl, Metal-X shadow, Kinda Sexy lipstick
With rock princess as the inspiration, hairstylist Marcos Proenca created a Mohican mohawk with lots of volume on the top. To create the height, Proenca prepped the hair with mousse and finished with spray. “I think its good hair for women in the winter, but maybe less volume,” he suggested. “It goes well with coats and trench coats.”
Nails got two coats with Risque’s Preto Sepia nail polish for that rebel edge.
