“It’s a soft, velvet look with beautiful skin. It’s perfect, dewy skin with a focus on the eyes. It’s about creating soft, terra cotta feeling on the eyelids. To get this, I mixed a powder eyeshadow (MAC Exposed) and an eye cream (MAC Fast Response Eye Cream) because I liked the idea of keeping a transparency on the eye. I wanted something tinted but transparent, very different than just an eyeshadow. After that I added a touch of redness inside, for a chestnut with a touch of red (MAC Love’s Allure). Nothing under the eyes, just a little highlight, no mascara, and a bit of contouring with soft, creamy shades. For lips, I’m dabbing two lipsticks, Au Natural and Autumn, and that’s it.

To keep the skin dewy, I’m not using any powder. When the skin is too shiny, I always do a bit of absorbing on the T-zone, but for this look, you just use a good moisturizer and foundation (MAC Matchmaster) and don’t powder. It’s ok if you shine a little bit, you’re alive!

on the wearability of the red color:

For the red, start with a chestnut base, and then just add a little bit of red to find the right shade for you.” – Carole Colombani

“It’s a winter collection so they wanted something soft and not aggressive with the evocation of winter. And sometimes, as a girl, you need to look soft. This look is sweet and comfy. We’re using a lot of Mousse (Kerastase Mousse Substantif) and blowdrying the hair upside down to put all the roots up. From there, we do a middle part, tease the hair at the roots and pull the hair low in the back over the ears. Then we rub our hands up against the hair to create some static. So it’s round and comfy. It’s not exaggerated. It’s an evocation.” – Odile Gilbert

“The nail look is based off of what Suno’s presenting this season. It’s very sumptuous, rich, the textures are great and the patterns are very rococo-esque, so it was a great match with the over-all aesthetic. We showed them a couple colors but when they say the 24K gold leaf, that was it. It looks a bit like a pattern when you apply it, so it matches well with their over-all aesthetic for this collection. We’re applying it over the natural nail and arranging the bits and pieces of gold to create its own pattern.” – Casey Herman
