Look: 70s Sophisticated Bohemian
Makeup: Diane Vendal
Hair: Odile Gilbert for Kerastase
Nails: Alicia Tolley
Diane Kendal created a “70s inspired, sophisticated bohemian” makeup look. After rimming the inside of the eyes with a soft black eyeliner, she diffused a black cream liner on the top lashes and brushed the eyebrows. Cheeks were brushed with a blend of pink and peach blush and highlighter for a fresh flush. Lips were dusted with a little foundation and layered with a vivid pink or orange pigment for a stained effect. Because the colors are so bright, only a little pigment was required to deliver that wash of color.

Hair was youthful, a little bit like a young girl’s, with lots of texture, a side sweep and a hidden braid. Mousse was applied to dry hair and layered with a texturizing spray that was dried in order to create more texture. Hair was then swept to the side to create an illusion of a bang. A single strand below the ear was braided so that “when the models walk, it comes out,” explained Gilbert.

Nails were kept clean, shiny and natural with two coats of Essie’s BBF (Best Boyfriend), a pretty nude pink “that’s not too bright but not a white pink, ” described Torello, on fingers and toes.
