“If I could sum the look up in a word it would be ‘rad’. What inspired me was seeing the hair and the models in the clothes and from there it was easy to capture the vibe of the collection. I think the reason it works is because it isn’t overworked. “Desperately Seeking Susan” and skateboard design are references we used. That kind of underground monster magazine, comic feel is in the collection. So I chose bright green for the eye and a purply pink lip. It’s like a young teenager who’s dying to wear makeup but doesn’t want to look like her mother.” – Kabuki
“We have a kind of 80’s through to the 90’s faux hawk going on. There’s a very strong, punk/goth element to Jeremy’s show. We wanted the hair to look very raw and quite skank and nasty. We’re using wigs that we’ve customized because we don’t want to ruin the models’ beautiful hair. There’s a lot of color in the collection so we’ve done black hair to give it a harder, cooler edge. The models need to look like they own the clothes and the girl that wears Jeremy’s clothes is a strong girl with a rebellious attitude. It’s kind of anti-style, style, and very punk rock. Before we put the wig on we’re using a technique to remove weight from the hair, we’re pulling it back and up to lift the face, then we tie it with elastic and then just fold the hair over itself to follow the shape of the head. It’s really about being free spirited. Rebellious, brash, cool, that’s the look.” – Eugene Souleiman
“Jeremy and I went from one extreme to another because we wanted to do something with nail art but the collection has a lot of crazy prints so we didn’t want it to be too much. In the end we decided to do bright neons because he wanted a pop of color. The girl is a New York street girl who doesn’t really care what people think about what she wears and she doesn’t spend a lot of time polishing her nails. We did a matte topcoat so it has a smudged look and short natural nails. The colors are custom for Jeremy.” – Pattie Yankee
