The Look: 60s Bourgeois Eccentric
Makeup: Peter Philips for Chanel
Hair: Sam McKnight
Peter Philips added a bit of eccentricity and Byzantine gilt to Lagerfeld’s take on fifties Italian la dolce vita dressing. Bits of gold or silver foil were pressed from lash line to brow using gel. “It’s a game of textures,” said Philips. “Mixing fur with leather with a graphic metallic element.” Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproff winged the upper lashline and lashes were layered with black mascara. Pink blush was dusted over the cheeks for a faint flush and foundation was dabbed on the lips for a nude effect.
Products; Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof, Inimitable mascara, Rose Ecrin blush, Pro Lumiere foundation
McKnight cited “madcap mathematicians” as his hair inspiration. The matte, bouffant bowbs were “very structured, but a little bit destroyed.” To get the height, McKnight sprayed hair with a texturizing spray before teasing hair into a full puff before pinning the ends under in a 60s-ish, faux bob.
