Artist Sebastian Blanck, known primarily for intimate paintings of friends and family, like wife Isca Greenfield-Sanders, is also an accomplished musician with considerable credibility. This June, he released his debut solo album Alibi Coast, on Rare Book Room Records.

Blanck was a founding member of art-noise heroes Black Dice and his newest album has been gaining momentum since its release, with contributions from Caroline Polachek and Becky Stark of Chairlift and co-production by Jorge Elbrecht of Violens, and is said to be an imagining of the last days of Blanck’s brother Toby, who passed away in 2007. I Blame Baltimore is the record’s first single, released with the accompanying video directed by Ben Syverson.
