If you’re an art addict like me, then Armory Week is one of the best weeks of the year. At the heart of New York’s Armory Week is the Armory Show and this year marks its 22nd iteration. Similar to Art Basel Miami, there are a number of satellite fairs, parties and performances going on you don’t want to miss out on this weekend.

Here’s our top picks for art fairs happening this week:

1. SPRING/BREAK Art Show

Location: 421 8th Avenue, Midtown

Date: March 2 – 7

Spring/Break is a curator driven fair that takes place at Skylight at Moynihan Station, the former offices of the historic James A. Farley Post Office. This year’s theme is “CopyPaste” featuring work by over 800 artists.

2. The Art Show

Location: Park Avenue Armory, Park Avenue at 67th Street, Upper East Side

Date: March 2 – 6

Organised annually by the Art Dealers Association of America (ADAA), The Art Show offers thoughtfully curated presentations by the country’s leading fine art dealers featuring work dating from the late 19th century to today.

3. The Armory Show

Location: Piers 92 & 94, Midtown

Date: March 3 – 6

The Armory Show considers itself America’s leading art fair as it presents the highest-quality modern and contemporary art.

4. VOLTA NY

Location: Pier 90, Midtown

Date: March 2 – 6

Volta NY acts as a boutique fair “by galleries, for galleries” as it focuses solely on solo projects from international artists.

5. Art on Paper

Location: Pier 36, Lower East Side

Date: March 3 – 6

After its inaugural debut in 2015, Art on Paper returns with a focus on special projects that push the boundaries of paper as a medium.

6. Independent New York

Location: Spring Studios, 50 Varick Street, TriBeCa

Date: March 3 – 6

The Independent has newly relocated to TriBeCa offering a larger space for its maturing gallery roster.

7. PULSE New York

Location: Metropolitan Pavilion, 125 West 18th Street

Date: March 3 – 6

PULSE showcases contemporary art by both emerging and established galleries while operating as a dynamic and engaging platform for the art world.
