“Design-To-Go” is a collaboration of designers showcasing a unique collection of travel-inspired products, all under one roof. In an attempt to bring business to the retail area of 41st Street and 8th Avenue, the theme of the shop focuses on travel and being “on the go” in New York. A variety of objects displayed range from sustainable-designed Kor water bottles, pigeon feather souvenirs from BROOKLYNrehab to a pendant lamp made from exhaust pipes. Kiel Mead, designer and founder of the American Design Club, noted that the designs were inspired by street and road signage colors like black, white and yellow. “Design-To-Go” will be open for business until October 1, 2009.
