Ahh…New York City. The Big Apple, The Empire City, The City That Never Sleeps, The City Of…umm…A Thousand PR Events Every Week. Something is always being launched, opened, debuted, or celebrated – exactly what is sometimes not clear – but it generally involves free champagne so no one really minds. Last night I attended a cool store party at Kiosk (95 Spring St., 2nd Fl., 212.226.5155, kioskkiosk.com) to celebrate the arrival of loads of new items from Finland. The store’s motto is “interesting things from interesting countries” – they feature an array of products from a particular country, with the country and items offered changing every 4 months or so. Many of the products are the sort of small, strangely well-made things you might see at a hardware store in Krakow or at a drugstore/chemist in Taipei – the sort of weird and wonderful things we all see when we travel. As you can see below, the crowd was quite eclectic and cool and the 2nd floor loft location of the store made for quite a cool setting as well.
