Instagram isn’t just a place where Millennials go to post about their daily lives and what they’ve stumbled upon. It has become a key social platform where stores around the globe — independent to high street — can visually express and spread their identity, inspirations and curated goods. It is an essential source where consumers can stay updated with shops’ daily newbies, trends and changes within the store’s space.
Here’s my mini selection of the international stores with interiors that dazzle on their Instagram accounts, perfectly conveying their brand’s aesthetic.
Let’s begin with Noden, a refined independent concept store based in Singapore. Established in 2013 by Tawan Conchonnet and Marko Yeo, it offers a wide range of handpicked, quality vintage Scandinavian design furniture and decorative accessories. The store itself is more or less a furniture oasis for Scandi furniture lovers. The Instagram account highlights selected pieces in flawlessly styled shots, harmonising the designs with a touch of green, graphic framed print or a few ceramic pieces. What I find fascinating is the way they stage a certain item in a highly minimal way, picked from a large amount of furniture within their physical store.
Next up, we have the Australian furniture, lighting and homeware company Pop & Scott. Their Instagram account is curated with a variety of photographs of their stores and showrooms across the country — featuring a lot of greenery, beautifully designed furniture pieces and a homely overall feel. The store not only makes you want to buy everything, but makes you want to stay and become a permanent resident there. Each corner of the store is thought through, from the seasonal floral bouquet to the cosy throw placed on the couch.
And finally, we have Serendipity Delhi, an exceptional travel-inspired concept store based in New Delhi. Situated within a restored haveli, the boutique sells contemporary takes on traditional Indian furniture and textiles. The store is spacious, all-white and full of colourful items — displaying a mix and match of local materials, prints and patterns. The Instagram account captures perfectly the laid back atmosphere and mix of cultures — focusing on embellished details, delicate prints of products and styled corners of the store.
