Antwerp’s Royal Academy of Fine Arts, the preeminent birthplace of avant-garde fashion ever since the “Antwerp 6” (whose members include Dries Van Noten and Ann Demeulemeester) graduated in the 80s, continues to cultivate pure creativity with its 4-year fashion design program. A hot ticket for the international fashion press, the end-of-year catwalk presentation showcases student work from all four years. Stylesight was on hand at the strikingly futuristic show, which commenced with the skirt and jacket projects of the school’s fifty first-year students and ended with the 12-look collections from the sixteen fourth-year students. The show is a testament to the fertile creativity and technical expertise fostered at this hallowed hall of fashion.
