Milan: One could almost smell the sea breeze at the Antonio Marras Spring/Summer collection, which depicted the life of a Sardinian sailor. There were the ubiquitous nautical stripes as well deep-sea monsters printed on loosely tailored jackets and pea coats. Layers were light and awash with texture; pattern-clashing appliqués appeared on military inspired jackets and zip through shirts, whilst a textural blue weave looked standout on a relaxed tailored suit. Hawaiian prints came emblazoned on boxy utility silhouettes against a khaki green backdrop, lightening the collections mood, as if the sailor decided to take a de-tour to a tropical haven. It’s a sailors life for Antonio Marras! – Anna Ross
