Milan: Luxe, arty, and a bit whimsical, the F/W Anteprima collection was designed for ultra-femme types with a dark, poetic edge. Creative director Izumi Ogino’s sheer blouses and skater skirts made from fancy fabrics like lace, dotted swiss and velvet were the picture of romantic, made slightly punky by the mostly black palette. Oversized sweaters and sweater dresses were offered in the label’s feathery angoras and sheer cashmeres. A fine-gauge cashmere lounge ensemble was topped with a layered dotted swiss coat, creating a posh option for lounge or travel. Knit tops and dresses looked fairy-tale ready with poet sleeves, and basic woven blazers and pants were went baroque with lush jacquards. Velveteen culotte-shorts reflected a new shape showing up on other runways, and deeply side-parted hair gave it all an early 60s chic.
