Paris: For Anne Valérie Hash’s S/S 13 collection, entitled “Electric Nude”, she used her training as a couturier to make garments that seemed almost glued to the body. The pieces — in all shades of naked with an iridescent spark — were suspended from the body with masterfully crafted corsets. “I start with a collage of fabrics and inspirations. This time I wanted to create something very feminine, showing off the most beautiful part of the woman’s body – the shoulders, ” explained Anne. The fabrics accentuated every move with iridescent sparkle and shine, creating a kind of aquatic magnetism. Liquid, wet-looking, cellophane-like materials and asymmetric cuts played on the duality of above and under water. Neptunian prints were mixed in with twinkling tulles and opalescent organzas, and mesh-covered sequins added a subtle glimmer. “My inspiration was semiprecious stones, minerals, pearls and the sea,” said Hash. The pearly pastels, electric anise and powdery pink showcased the designer’s gorgeous sense of color. Silhouettes were slender, cleverly displaying the female form. The Hash trademark – jumpsuits — were off-the-shoulder or strapless this season, and were merged with crossover waistline pants for flattering effect. “Women love my jumpsuits,” Anne told us. “They are created for a strong, independent woman and show off the lines of the entire body. A jumpsuit is more cool than a dress – it expresses ease and confidence.”— Celia Ingesson
