Fendi: A collection fit for Lagerfeld's legacy
Feb 22, 2019 | By Lizzy Bowring
EXPERIMENTAL EASE
Paris: Anne Valérie Hash has had quite a bit of success with her couture line, tailoring her work to fit the needs of a small group of luxury clients. Many of the advanced techniques she uses there shine through in her mainline collections as well, though for Pre-Fall she took a more relaxed approach. Easy fit tuxedo jumpsuits and satin a-line coats sat next to slouchy jersey tops and asymmetric pleated skirts, while draped track pants dressed up with stacked collar button downs. The designer took a light hand with suiting, whittling down one button blazers with pointed hems and adding gathering and pockets to pencil skirts. Creative but sometimes bland, the collection would have benefited from more experimental pieces such as an off-kilter pair of overalls or an undulating folded front jacket. —Nina Stotler
