Paris: “This season is all about femininity, sophisticated voluptuousness, and softness,” said Anne Valérie Hash of her current collection. The designer was inspired by the sensuous, lounging figures in Egon Schiele’s paintings, and the artist’s soft palette of cosmetic tones influenced the peachy pales Hash used. Soft, wrapped pants, gathered tops and layered skirts helped to create the relaxed mood, while tailored pieces like a chic trench and a cropped jacket kept it grounded, adding a touch of structure to the lightweight looks. Ethereal tunics – one with a handkerchief hem and tiers at the bust – looked romantic but not fussy, while raw edges and bits of crochet gave items a handmade, artisanal quality. A handful of girlish pieces, including heather grey overalls and a poofy ruffled mini, looked appealing for Juniors. The overall effect of the gently edgy collection matched Hash’s description – feminine and soft yet sophisticated.
