Legendary NYC designer Anna Sui has teamed up with the cult brand FitFlop to produce a limited edition boot for Autumn/Winter 09. Right on trend with the current Native American/mocassin craze, the Shakoha, is a double-faced shearling boot with suede, decorative metal studs and hand stitched details, built on the FitFlop patent-pending Microwobbleboard™ midsole, “so you get a workout while you walk”. The boot comes in black, brown, and blue, and will be available on Net-A-Porter starting November 10. They only created 1000 pairs and odds are they will sell out in the first week.
This butt-toning, better for your posture, easy on your joints, workout while you walk obession du jour has generated such a buzz…. that there is literally an entirely new category of footwear focused specifically on physical health and well- being. Reebok released the BodyTone which is the most aesthetically pleasing of all the versions on the market and even Sketchers has gotten in the ring, creating a user friendly fitness shoe that promotes weight loss. MBT’s – the original “rocker” hybrid – is really responsible for bringing this insider technology to the mainstream – picking up right where Crocs left off – providing an enhanced footwear experience for the masses.
