Ann Demeulemeester was turning out chic vampires way before movies like Twilight burst onto the scene. Her F/W 10 collection was full of rich textures and dramatic layers with, as always, a bit of punk priestess Patti Smith thrown in for good measure. Slim pants with a roomy rise were ornamented with dangling chains and tucked into military boots, giving off the right mix of hard and delicate. An all-black palette was occasionally warmed with camel in the form of wool capes or mink scarves. A long ribbed cardigan was cut on the bias, layered over a soft moto jacket with a draped neck that could only come from Demeulemeester. The final group of exits featured looks adorned with feathers, a reminder that no matter how seemingly dark the designer’s vision is each season, a sense of romance always prevails.
