Evolv is a new retail concept offering contemporary and cutting-edge Indian fashion, created in collaboration with leading and upcoming Indian designers, at affordable prices for the still untapped market of urban Indian youth.
Located in the southern Indian city of Chennai, Evolv features range of high quality design products ranging from designer apparel, accessories, stationary, books, magazines and music. Targeting a shift, from when designer products were only made available to an older and affluent customer until now, Evolv aims bring a fresh perspective to the depleted Indian urban retail scene by addressing this new and dynamic segment.
The curation of interesting and unusual product mix includes fashion from young designers like Gaurav Gupta, Amit Agarwal, Shrivan Narresh and AMPM. Collaborators include leading Indian designers Manish Arora, Rohit Bal, Rajesh Pratap Singh, Rohit Gandhi Rahul Khanna, Abraham & Thakore, Namrata Joshipura, Sanchita and Malini Ramani to name but a few. There is also an eponymous young and casual menswear line from Evolv. Accessories include headphones from Skullcandy, as well as footwear by Language and the Brazilian brand Melissa. There is also a large range of design-based books and magazines such as Surface, Dazed & Confused and ID, as well as city guides by Luxe, the Love Travel Guides by Fiona Caulfield and Wallpaper Guides.
Evolv has collaborated with Delhi based design studio Illum Design for branding and space graphics, along with architect Vikram Phadke to create a unique retail identity. The first store is located the luxury section of the Express Avenue Mall in Chennai, with 4 additional stores planned by the end of 2011 (in Dehli, Mumbai, Bangalore and Pune).
