Milan…As the seasons have passed, Gucci’s Frida Giannini has continued to find her distinct perspective when it comes to the men’s collection. For S/S 10 it was instantly clear that she was in a much more relaxed state of mind than before, taking us off to a warm and sunny place where activities like scuba diving, kite surfing and dining clad in white cotton suits is commonplace. A strong graphic ombré element looked even more dramatic with a happy pop of cobalt blue. An opening group of white suits were ever so quiet, save for a reminder of Gucci’s not-so-subtle spirit in the form of flashy patterned shirts and bright ties. The active looks were mostly all white with the occasional layer of icy grey, which was in itself refreshing for Gucci’s usual aesthetically loud collection.
