The Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishing Market, otherwise known as AmericasMart ran January 9 – 16th, 2018 in Atlanta, Georgia. This market features over 9,000 brands across home decor, furniture, gifts, holiday, and more.
The garden showrooms are a staple of the AmericasMart. In addition to these speciality rooms, whose sole purpose is botanical and garden items, flora and fauna were featured across several aspects of the tradeshow. The holiday and gifting sections of the show, in particular, had a vast amount of creative plant products. These products caught my eye as the perfect way to gift someone with greenery without the burden of them having a new responsibility of a living plant to take care of. It shows that last year’s greenery trend (and colour of the year) prevails within lifestyle and interiors.
I was surprised by the high-quality of the artificial plants. My experience with fake plants has been predominantly ivy wreaths or flowers that appear plastic and too bright a colour to be real. Instead, these plants looked real even to the touch and in a variety of genus. Gifting items included ceramic and hanging pots with artificial plants inside. Trendy green walls became long-lasting, decorative, art pieces with the use of plastic succulents.
Presented as home decor pieces that add greenery to your living space, this gift idea is an excellent solution for those without a green thumb or can act as an affordable alternative to a constant bouquet on the table.
