“Mirror Images” was the theme of Alexis Mabille’s Spring 11 couture offering, and it was hard to miss the point. Showing identical pieces in different colors and fabrications (for example a square-cut sheath dress was shown in both a vivid print and pure white), the end result was somewhat like looking in a fun-house mirror. While the conceit was amusing at first, the repetition took away from an otherwise pretty 70s-inflected collection.
