Alexander Wang, Spring/Summer 2016: Effortless, cool street style

New York: In an atmosphere that was nothing short of electrifying, Alexander Wang presented his highly anticipated collection of cool and energetic street style. Here was a lineup of separates thoughtfully curated, bearing all the hallmarks of Wang’s clever craftsmanship – from innovative fabrics to colour blocked technical pairings, the presentation was full of everyday pieces alive with a futuristic vibe. The sport element thread through every item exposing Wang’s individualistic streak, beginning with the opening look of a white cropped ribbed tank complete with chain link straps teamed with low slung trousers made of strips of woven fabrics.

Military-inspired jackets fringed with leather details, embodied the tomboy spirit. Yet there was a romantic side to this collection in the juxtaposition of an oversized trench worn over a silk satin slip dress, while grit and sexiness was alive in a black leather bustier or androgynous bomber jackets, all worked in intricate detail. In short? Wang is undoubtedly the master of street cool.
