London: “It’s the idea of things being slightly undone,” Sarah Burton said of her Pre-Fall 14 Alexander McQueen collection. Here, she crafted long, elegant silhouettes in exquisite lace and gave it all an edgy undercurrent. There were influences from early ’90s men’s tailoring as well as Art Nouveau and early Victoriana dresses – some of which were given a luxurious edge with beaded shrugs and silver appliques. – Lizzy Bowring
