Amsterdam-based label Scotch & Soda kicks off the A/W 14 season with its Alchemy Blues Project, a special collection of 5 hand painted denim jackets.

Scotch & Soda‘s denim line, Amsterdams Blauw, has collaborated with four graphic designers for Alchemy Blues Project, a special customisation collection of five Japanese selvedge denim trucker jackets. Inspired by the ancient theme of Alchemy and its basic elements – air, earth, wind and fire – the jackets were recreated into four individual style pieces with hand painted artworks. Only one jacket went into production, the fifth, which has been created by all designers together. The exclusive piece limited to 250 pieces is now available in selected Scotch & Soda stores in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Austria, UK, Italy, Sweden, USA and online. The retail price of the denim jacket is €349,95.

“Alchemists strive to turn base materials into something noble as silver and gold. We immediately saw the link with denim where we effortless transform a base material such as cotton into something as rich as a selvedge indigo fabric. Captivated by this idea, we started creating.” – Creative team Scotch & Soda

To celebrate the jacket’s release, an exclusive event will take place on August 14 at Made My Day Gallery in Berlin. Head over to the Alchemy Blues page to keep up on the coverage of the project.
