A very special vintage shopping opportunity launched on yoox.com this week as Italian Countess Albertina Marzotto, fashion journalist and Milanese fashion fixture, has opened her vast closets to the online retailer. Culled from an impressive archive spread across three homes in Milan, Verona, and Forte dei Marmi, the 200+ pieces selected for the online shop offer a highly personal glimpse into the style of a modern day fashion lover, spanning 25 years and innumerable fashion cycles to yield a vision that is occasionally trendy and more often timeless. Separated into 3 categories– Classic, Avant-Garde, and Bohemian– gorgeous clothing and accessories by Emilio Pucci, Chanel, Moschino, Prada, Sonia Rykiel and more line the walls of this virtual boutique, of which the countess herself says, “Putting my vintage items up for sale on yoox.com offers me a completely new kind of experience: dream-like and unpredictable, taking the most beautiful moments of my life- in the form of clothes- and sending them out into the virtual space of the internet, so that they can reach people I don’t know, who will make them their own and enrich them with their own memories.” And “25 years in the wardrobe of an Italian Countess,” as the project is officially called, is just the beginning of a new vintage era on yoox.com. Holly Brubach, former New York Times Style editor and current director of special vintage projects for yoox.com, will be developing ideas for bringing the unique world of vintage to an online audience.
