This past weekend, the Active Team was stoked to see Sebastian Toutant’s victory in Beijing at the Air + Style big air contest presented by Oakley and Shaun White. The first major event for The People’s Republic of China and the Swatch TTR season welcomed sixteen of the most talented snowboarders from around the world to compete. Using the Olympic Sports Center Stadium to full effect with a 130-foot gap drop, athletes as usual, pushed the envelope.
Toutant took first place completing a Cab 1260 double cork for his first 6Star win, saying he was stoked to be in China for the first time himself. Seppe Smits of Belgium took second place, and third to Elias Elhardt of Germany.
With Camp Woodward opening in China this past spring, the Active Team is excited to continue our Eastern Asia coverage with the Air + Style in Beijing and the expansion of action sports in that market. It’s going to be exciting to see what happens over the coming months and years in the world of action sports for China. Stay tuned…
