adidas unveiled the lightest mid cut cleat in football today, the adiZero 5-Star Mid. Released following the excitement of the NFL’s Wild Card Weekend, the Mid cleat follows the adiZero F50 Soccer cleat as adidas continues to lead minimal trends in performance footwear.
Weighing in at 7.9 ounces, stay tuned to see it on Broncos linebacker, Von Miller, as he advances in the playoffs in the next few weeks. The synthetic upper is made of a single layer fiber called SPRINTSKIN with a SPRINTFRAME base, that significantly reduces the weight of the boot without sacrificing the much-needed support on the field. Along with triangular-shaped cleats and TPU support bands, traction and stability are addressed as the essential needs for the positions demanding speed and quick changes of direction.
The adiZero will be available in April for $115 in 17 colorways at major sporting goods stores as well as online at adidas. As performance apparel, gear, and footwear continues to push the limits of minimal design and lightweight materials for maximum potential, Stylesight continues to watch this trend reach to every niche market. -Calvy Click
