Adidas is known for innovative street concepts and celebrity partnerships. This time around Adidas focuses on London with a look towards 2012 Olympic games.
As the official sportswear partner of the games, as well as Team GB and ParalympicsGB Adidas has already begun their marketing initiatives in London by placing AdiZones all over the city. The Zones are outdoor multi-sport facilities in the shape of the London 2012 logo. The logo, designed by Wolff Olins, is a representation of the number 2012, with the Olympic Rings embedded within the zero.
The idea is to create a public space to dance, participate in a sport or just work out 24/7/365. A clever bit of public advertisement; working as a physical tool for shaping up the country.
In other Adidas related news, Adidas Originals has released it latest music video, filmed in the streets of London (coincidence… we think not). In the video David Beckham acts as ringmaster, Snoop Dog stops by, Oasis has a sing-along while 200 friends run wild. The backing music is once again provided by French DJ/ Remixer Pillooski who was behind their wildly successful 2008 clip featuring his re-edit of Frankie Valli’s “ Beggin “.
