We stumbled upon some really fresh looking artwork this week that we had to share. Typically, Action Sports ads and images are depicted in a more graphic manner, simple black and photography, geometric motifs and flashy colors. Now, we aren’t saying there is anything wrong with that, we are just stoked to see artists and brands getting a bit more creative, and actually, well…create.
For a painterly interpretation — a technique that has literally transitioned straight from the runway — we have absolutely fallen in love with Christopher St. Leger’s works in watercolor. Basic scenes, like kids kickflipping and pushing down the block, are spot on. To be honest, it one of the coolest things we have seen in a while.
For their Life Collection, DC, went with a still life painting of the Admiral Sport, to evoke an artistic mood. Love that you can still see the palette knife effects and textures.
